DESCRIPTION:We know this seems pretty random, but we’ve been inspired to enjoy God’s creation from atop a horse. And since there’s already a plan to head to the Poconos for the MUDGIRL 3-mile Obstacle Course, why not make a day of it and add a horseback ride?\nHere are the options:\n• A 45-minute trail ride at Mountain Creek Stables in Cresco, PA is $49.00+tax, (and gratuities if you feel led on that day). We’re signing up for the 10:00 am trail ride. You can visit their website for all the details, including what to wear, and any physical concerns or restrictions, and to sign up. https://mtcreekstable.com/\n• MUDGIRL (no need to worry, we’re walking the 3 mile course) currently listed at the price of $47.50, and we’ll be participating in the 12:30 wave time. Wave (time) slots fill up quickly and prices increase as we approach the race date, so better to sign-up early if you’re interested. In past years, we chose the 8:30am wave time – great parking, but cold water and more wet than muddy, so we’re changing it up this year. What’s a “wave time”? Instead of having all participants begin the race at once, they are released at one-hour intervals to allow for even spacing throughout the course. Signup: https://register.mudgirlrun.us/event/mudgirl-poconos-2025-sat. There is one additional option with the MUDGIRL, if you have FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out!) – you can pay for a $10 registration “Spectator” ticket. This will allow you to attend the event and walk around with your team and take pictures, but not participating in any of the obstacles.\nIf we’ve piqued your curiosity, here are a few scenarios to consider: travel up on Friday, May 30th, stay overnight, horseback riding at 10:00 am, mud run at 12:30 pm, then head back. If you’d like to participate in the mud run but not the horseback riding, we’ll do our best to coordinate carpools to accommodate.
